When the Kerala Blog Express rolled out, tourism in Kerala held its breath in excitement…26 young people from 21 countries, so many world-views, so much possibility…when Kalypso took them on a boat, bike and trek tour, the infectious exuberance had caught on.

Now they have moved on to chart new paths, leaving in their wake memories of a fun group who were compassionate and understanding of cultures and energetic and enthusiastic about seeing more and knowing more…memories of a lively bunch who were as keen to visit a tribal hut as they were to kayak in the backwaters of Alleppey.

A Vegan Cycle Tour of India - it's all about animal love!! ???? ????... When the vegans came to India to cycle and spread their idea of love, compassion and respect for animals, India embraced them throughout their 5 days and 400 kilometers of not-so-perfect roads with her sun-drenched little towns and villages, yellow mustard fields, vast dried-up river beds, distant hills and roadside vendors.

The Vegan Cycle Tour of North India was a unique experience that Kalypso was privileged to be part of. We accept that completing this mission of love that involved hard work, tough terrains, unfamiliar cuisines and trying weather in a foreign land was a challenge of huge proportions. At the end of it, dear Veganuary, we acknowledge your sheer grit and determination to see the task to its completion, the passion for the cause of Veganism, the satisfaction at having contributed to it, the practical reality of the money you raised for the conservation of 25000 land-farmed animals, the cause dear to your hearts, the purpose of the cycling tour. We at Kalypso take off our hats to you!! 

As George Adam Hesse, motor-bike enthusiast and adventure-lover from the UK, set out on the iconic Royal Enfield’s Himalayan from Ernakulam along the bustling roads of Fort Kochi, he was determined to pack in every possible ounce of fun and adventure into this customised tour.

From the magnetic Athirapally waterfalls and the mountain roads of the Western Ghats to reach Munnar and then onto Thekkady, the wildlife paradise to finally arrive at Alleppey and board its famed houseboat, the biker in him had traversed multiple terrains…seen it all, done it all…certain he would come back for more.

A 2 week Cycling Challenge was conducted with participants from Saddle Skedaddle in the island country Sri Lanka. The cycling route passes through  plantations , scenic routes, national parks and tropical beache to enthrail the spirits of the challengers.

Our tuk tuk challenge flagged off from the heart of Fort Kochi with more than 15 enthusiastic travellers to explore real India. From the flat terrains of Kochi onto the cultural heartland of Kerala, Cheruthuruthy and then to Pollachi in the neighbouring state and the surreal hill station Kodaikanal before re-entering Kerala at Bodi with its spectacular wildlife sanctuary and going on to Alleppey’s treasure trove of waterways prior to returning to Kochi… how much more can a tour offer in breath taking diversity and experiences.

Youths from across the globe coming over to South India to hike through the mountains, kayak the backwaters and interact with kids at schools during their holidays.
