The Western Ghats Botanical Tour is a 10 day trip with a renowned botanist with many years of field experience in this area of great bio-diversity named as one of the 35 bio-diversity hot spots on earth. The entire Western Ghats bio-geographic region is a major genetic ocean with an enormous biodiversity. Nearly 5800 species of flowering plants occur here of which 56 genera and 2100 species are endemic. Your journey will pass through the Mannavan Shola – a high altitude cloud forest which has been termed as a living fossil by botanists. Your journey will also encompass a visit to the century old Botanical Garden at Ooty - a veritable treasure trove of plant life of the peninsula. Day 4, 5, 6, 7: Munnar & surrounding areas (high altitude rain forests, grasslands)
Day 8, 9, 10: Ooty – Botanical Garden at Ooty
Day 11, 12, 13: Thattekkad (Lowland forests, moist deciduous forests, grasslands)

Accommodation
Accommodation will be arranged in eco-lodges, camps in the wilderness and resorts. The trip involves extensive field trips requiring reasonably high physical fitness.
