Kerala Homestay Tour

Day 1-2: Historic Fort Kochi
Explore the charming streets of Kochi, where you'll be greeted by the iconic Chinese fishing nets, vibrant shops, and bustling ferry boats traversing the backwaters. Wander through the historic old town adorned with Portuguese-style houses, cobbled lanes, and landmarks such as St. Francis Church, Cochin Clubhouse, Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), the Synagogue, and Jew Town. Conclude your day with a captivating Kathakali performance.
Day 3-5: Spice Plantation Bungalow
Depart for a homestay nestled deep in Kerala's countryside, at the base of the Western Ghats, on an organic farm. From your room's patio, enjoy sweeping views of the Sahyadri mountains, river, and forest. Immerse yourself in village life, interact with local farmers, learn traditional cooking methods, and perhaps visit a local school during your stay.
Day 6-8: Backwaters at Alleppey
Travel to a serene village nestled along the backwaters near Alleppey. Your accommodation will be a picturesque Keralan-style heritage villa overlooking River Manimala. Explore the tranquil villages by bicycle, observe the traditional process of tapping toddy (local palm wine), and witness artisans crafting coir ropes and mats. For beach enthusiasts, a short stroll takes you to the nearby local beach. Indulge in delicious Kuttanadan cuisine, a highlight of your stay.
Day 9-11: Beach Villa
Embark on a short journey to Marari Beach where you'll unwind at a beach villa for the next three days. Relax on the pristine sands, participate in cooking sessions with local families, visit charming fishing villages, or enjoy leisurely walks along the shorelines.

Holiday Feedback

" I would like to thank you and your team again for making our holiday in Kerala so fantastic!!!! - - Angela Hanley-Cook  2015-03-09

I want to personally thank you for the wonderful experience. The itinerary suited us very well. It was just the right amount of activities combined with restful stays in really good and well chosen locations. The home stays were very welcoming, comfortable and offered us stunning food. Most of all we want to thank you for the two excellent guides. From the time Francis and Joji met us at the airport until the last day, we enjoyed their company immensely. They were kind, warm and humorous and most of all helpful in every way. They guided us through parts of Kerala that we might not have explored and always ready to respond to all our needs. In addition to which they are knowledgeable of local culture, wildlife and history. We could not have had better people accompanying us on our wonderful journey.Ava Wood 2016-02-25
